San Francisco Opera commissions Elizabeth Barlow to create a portrait of conductor Nicola Luisotti upon his retirement from the Company. The painting was presented to Maestro Luisotti after his final performance as music director at San Francisco Opera, September 17, 2017.

August 20, 2016.  Elizabeth Barlow teaches a workshop at the New Museum Los Gatos titled  "Self-Portrait Workshop: A Few Of My Favorite Things."  Participants brought their most beloved objects to create "self portraits in absentia."  A wonderful group ranging in age from 7 to 60+ all eager to learn about the grand tradition of self-portraiture and how to create their own life stories in a work of art. 


June 11-July 17, 2016.  Elizabeth Barlow’s “Self-Portrait in Absentia”, is awarded 2nd Place by juror Brian Gross (Brian Gross Fine Art, San Francisco), at the Marin Museum of Contemporary Art's Summer National Exhibition.  Marin MOCA, Novato, CA.
