A fusion of the time honored traditions of portraiture and still life, my “Portraits in Absentia” reinterpret these two traditions in a twenty-first century style — through a person’s most cherished possessions. I create portraits not from my subjects visages, but from their uniquely personal objects, revealing how the simple things we use and value can become authentic and powerful carriers of meaning about who we truly are.
